Samsung Galaxy Mega to be launched by MetroPCS. Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear available at US Cellular now
Already released by AT&T and US Cellular, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 might be also available at MetroPCS sometime soon.
A live photo of a MetroPCS-bound Galaxy Mega has been revealed by TmoNews today. Unfortunately, there’s no word on when the carrier is planning to introduce the device. In any case, the Galaxy Mega from MetroPCS shouldn’t be different from the AT&T and US Cellular versions, featuring a 6.3 inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels, 8MP rear camera, dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and a 3,200 mAh battery. At the moment, the Galaxy Mega runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but it should be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat at some point.
We don’t know if T-Mobile (which merged with MetroPCS earlier this year) also intends to offer the Galaxy Mega.
In related news, today US Cellular has started selling the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear. The Note 3 is offered for $299.99 on contract, while the Galaxy Gear smartwatch has the same price, although without requiring a contract.
Launched as Samsung’s third-generation Note phablet, the Galaxy Note 3 features Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a 5.7 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, S Pen stylus, LTE, NFC, 13MP rear camera with OIS, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and 3GB of RAM.
Verizon Wireless should release the new Note tomorrow. AT&T and Sprint are already selling it.
