Dual SIM LG G Pro Lite gets official

LG has officially announced the G Pro Lite – a new Android handset that was first seen a couple of weeks ago.

The G Pro Lite resembles the LG G Pro (already available around the world) – but only in terms of size and overall aspect, since it’s not a high-end device. Presented by LG as a handset made to “fulfill the needs of practical smartphone users who want to enjoy the convenience of a large display”, the G Pro Lite features a 5.5 inch screen with 960 x 540 pixels, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, stylus pen, optional dual SIM capabilities (with a dedicated Hot Key), 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, dual-core 1GHz MediaTek MT6577 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 3,140 mAh battery.

“With LG G Pro Lite, we are introducing a competitive device to the masses in the growing large smartphone market. The market for smartphones with displays over five inches will continue to grow and LG is in a great position to capture these new customers when they’re ready to move up from their current phones,” declared Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

LG will launch the G Pro Lite starting this month, first in Latin America, then in Russia, China, and other countries in Asia and the Middle East. The handset’s official price hasn’t been revealed. It shouldn’t be more than $400 anyway.
