Apple’s October 22 iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 unveiling event confirmed, release date rumored
It’s official, ladies and gentlemen! The next generation iPads will first see the light of day (well, in public, at least) exactly one week from today – on October 22, that is. This has been rumored for a few days now, and moments ago Apple started sending out press invites for the event.
The company is expected to unveil the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 on this occasion, among perhaps some new Macs. The iPad 5 should come with a 64-bit A7 processor and looks that are in line with the design philosophy seen in the first iPad Mini. The second generation iPad Mini may or may not sport a Retina Display, that’s still up for debate these days. Both tablets could employ the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the Home button, just like the iPhone 5S that was released last month.
Obviously we’ll know everything for sure next Tuesday. As is usually the case, Apple’s new wares should make their way into stores in just a few days from the announcement. In fact, a leak claims that they’ll be out on either October 30 or October 31. That’s less than ten days after the grand unveiling, so you won’t have a lot of waiting to do if you’re craving one of these.
