Nokia Lumia 1520 launching in China in December? Asha 502 priced at $120 there

While it should be released in Europe (and probably also in the US) starting November, Nokia’s new Lumia 1520 may not be available in China (the world’s largest smartphone market) before December.

According to ePrice, the 1520 should be launched in China on 11 December. It’s going to cost 4,999 CNY – about $829, or €595. That’s considerably less than the price listed in Europe (€99.90).

The Lumia 1520 is expensive because it’s a high-end device. It’s not just Nokia’s first phablet, but also the first Windows Phone product to have a quad-core processor (Snapdragon 800) and a Full HD display (measuring 6 inches). Other features include NFC, a 20MP PureView rear camera with dual LED flash, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable internal memory, and a 3,400 mAh battery.

The more affordable Lumia 1320 (announced at the same time with the 1520) is headed to China, too, but it won’t be out until early 2014.

Another new device announced at the same time with the Lumia 1520 is the Asha 502. This will be released in China before the end of the year, costing 749 CNY ($123).
