BlackBerry Z30 will be a Verizon exclusive, out next month for $199.99
The BlackBerry Z30 is coming to the US. Maybe a bit later than you might have expected, but still, it’s on the way. Not only that, but it looks like Verizon has nabbed an exclusive on BlackBerry’s biggest ever smartphone.
The carrier nicknamed Big Red has announced that it will start selling the Z30 sometime next month (though unfortunately without revealing an actual release date). The handset will be priced at $199.99 with the now-usual two-year contract. That’s pretty much standard pricing for a high-end device in this day and age, though some may frown at the mention of the words ‘BlackBerry Z30’ and ‘high-end’ in the same sentence. Still, this is the Canadian company’s best effort yet.
The Z30 has a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED HD touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera with 1080p video recording, a 2 MP front camera, a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 16 GB of built-in storage space, a microSD card slot for expansion, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, wireless charging, and a non-removable 2,880 mAh battery. It runs BlackBerry OS 10.2, the latest iteration of BlackBerry’s software.
It’s unclear whether it will be exclusive to Verizon forever, or just for a limited time. We’ll let you know when we know more.
