Huawei Ascend W2 comes to Europe this month

These days, the Windows Phone scene seems to be all about Nokia. And you wouldn’t be too wrong in believing that. After all, Samsung and HTC are clearly quite busy ignoring the platform, and with Microsoft purchasing Nokia – can you blame them?

There is, however, a company that has launched a new Windows Phone this year aside from Nokia. It’s Huawei. The Ascend W2 went on sale in China in August, after many months of leaks relating to it. And this month, it’s coming to Europe.

Huawei Ascend W2 official

The Ascend W2 will be out in Russia and the Netherlands (and possibly other European countries) before the end of November. There’s no word right now on whether it might make it to the US. Nor do we know how much it will cost in Europe. However, it’s a low-end device, so it should come with a matching price. In China, it retails for around €121 contract-free.

The Huawei Ascend W2 will be offered in black, blue, yellow, or red. It sports a 4.3-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera, no front-facing unit, a 1.4 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 1,700 mAh battery. It runs Windows Phone 8. Its dimensions are 134x67x9.9 mm, and it weighs 160 grams.
