Android 4.4 KitKat for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in testing now
While Samsung didn’t officially unveil any time frames for Android 4.4 KitKat updates for its Galaxy devices, some of them will certainly be updated in the near future. The Galaxy Note 3 – Samsung’s newest high-end smartphone, released in September running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean – should be among those.
According to SamMobile (a reputable source), Samsung has already started testing 4.4 KitKat for the Note 3. Sure enough, it may take a while until the update is ready to be rolled-out to end users, but the Note 3 may very well be the first Galaxy to get it.
Another Samsung-made device, the Google Nexus 10 tablet, will be blessed with Android 4.4 KitKat starting the coming weeks.
The Galaxy Nexus smartphone from 2011 will not be updated to the newer version of the OS because it’s older than 18 months.
As for non-Samsung devices that will receive KitKat soon, these include the HTC One, LG Nexus 4, Asus Nexus 7, Moto X, Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Ultra Maxx, and Droid Mini.
