Moto G full specs unveiled thanks to another retailer listing, official images and pricing too
Tomorrow Motorola will officially unveil the Moto G, its latest smartphone that will look like the already launched Moto X, but will be lower-end and thus cheaper. Hopefully it’s also going to be released in many more countries than the X.
As we get closer to the announcement of the G, the leaks are starting to pour in. The Moto G hasn’t been a much leaked device until recently, but today we basically have everything anyone would want to know about it.
Specs? Covered, thanks to German retailer The Phone House putting up a listing for the Moto G by mistake. That’s happened yesterday at Amazon UK, but that time around we had no specs.
The Moto G will come with a 4.5-inch 720p HD touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera, a 1.3 MP front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (which is probably the ARM Cortex-A7 based Qualcomm Snapdragon 400), 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a 2,070 mAh battery. It will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean from day one. Its dimensions are 129.9×65.9 mm and it will be 6 to 11.6 mm thick. The weight is 143 grams.
LTE support wasn’t mentioned, and you really shouldn’t expect something like that on this budget device. Another thing that didn’t make the spec list was a microSD card slot. It’s also unlikely that the Moto G will come with one because of Google’s well known aversion to expandable storage on Android. That said, there is an incredibly small chance that both of these features are in, but were just left out of the leaked spec list for whatever reason. Don’t get your hopes up though.
So what about some official renders of the Moto G? Covered too (see above), thanks to UK retailer Tesco putting up a listing for the Moto G prematurely. Yes, the third one in less than a day. What is it with these companies? It’s almost like they’re trying to build up hype for this handset, isn’t it?
Price? Covered yesterday, thanks to the aforementioned Amazon leak, but covered today too once again via Tesco (which even undercut Amazon by £10). The Moto G will be priced at £149.99 in the UK (at least at Tesco). That’s great pricing that can ensure that Moto will move quite a few of these even in Europe.
And finally, yesterday’s leaked information coming from Amazon mentioned November 14 as the release date for the Moto G.
