Second generation Samsung Galaxy Camera (EK-GC200) possibly coming soon
Samsung’s first Galaxy Camera was launched last year as the company’s first Android-powered compact camera, bringing 21x optical zoom and Xenon flash to Google’s mobile OS. However, most reviews pointed out that the image quality of the photos taken with the Galaxy Camera wasn’t on par with what you’re getting from other standalone cameras. And that’s probably one of the reasons Samsung is readying a second-generation Galaxy Camera.
EVleaks has posted a test photo coming from the next-gen Samsung Galaxy Camera (model number EK-GC200), thus suggesting that the device might be released in the near future. Since the photo is just a test shot, it should not count in evaluating the image quality that the new Galaxy Camera will be able to provide once it’s officially released.
There is no word on the specs the new Galaxy Camera will have, and neither on how much Samsung intends to ask for it.
At the moment, the original Galaxy Camera is sold for prices starting at $449.99 (Wi-Fi -only version).
