Samsung Galaxy Note II Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update now rolling out
Samsung’s continued rollout effort for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has now hit the Galaxy Note II from last year. The update is now rolling out in India, and other countries and territories should get it soon. How soon depends on where the device was purchased from, as always – those units which were sold unlocked and SIM-free will get it first, while those bought from carriers will need to go through some additional testing (by said carriers) before they roll out.
The update brings with it support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, TRIM, Knox, preloaded Samsung Wallet, better RAM management, updated UI elements, a new Samsung keyboard, new GPU drivers, new lockscreen, new screen modes (Adapt Display and Professional Photo), Driving mode, new Settings UI (with tabs), voice controls, new Samsung apps such as Calculator, Clock, Contacts, Gallery, and Music, full screen Samsung apps, and new S-Voice.
After applying the update, you’ll be running software version N7100XXUEMK4. Keeping in mind that the rollout is staged, and that it may not have reached your particular device yet, if you want to check for the update you simply need to go to Settings > More > About device > Software update. Otherwise, your Galaxy Note II should notify you when it’s ready to download and install.
