T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II Android 4.3 update now rolling out
The Samsung Galaxy Note II started receiving the update to Android 4.3 a few weeks ago. So far, though, the update hadn’t made its way to T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note II units. That changed today, because T-Mobile customers have already started getting the new software on their phablets.
The update is around 615 MB in size, so make sure you download it via Wi-Fi. Speaking of which, as this is an over-the-air rollout, you won’t need to use a computer to do the installation. The phone will simply notify you when it’s ready to proceed. On the other hand, you may want to use Samsung’s Kies desktop software – which you can do, it’s just usually less of hassle to do the deed on the phone itself.
After applying the update, you’ll be running build MK7, as evidenced by the image above. The update should bring with it support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, bug fixes, UI changes that will make TouchWiz look more up to date when compared to more recent handsets such as the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, and a bunch of new features and updated Samsung-made apps.
As always in such cases, this is likely to be a staggered rollout, which means that it may take a few days, or even weeks for your particular device to get the update. If you’re impatient, just manually check through Settings.
