Unlocked HTC One with Android 4.4 KitKat available for $0 upfront in the US (no contract)

HTC has started selling its One smartphone (32GB version) with its own payment plan in the US. It’s offering the handset for $0 down plus monthly payments of as low as $25 for two years. There are no contracts involved and the smartphone is, of course, unlocked – so you’ll end up paying only its regular $600 price after two years.

Unfortunately for Verizon and Sprint users, the HTC One that’s being sold for $0 upfront is compatible only with AT&T and T-Mobile. Also, only “well-qualified applicants, subject to credit approval” can get it for $25 per month, while “other applicants may receive different financing terms or offers based on creditworthiness.” Interested customers can apply here at HTC. The offer ends on December 29.

According to PhoneScoop, the HTC One included in this campaign runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Early next year, HTC will probably unveil a successor to the One, currently codenamed HTC M8. This might become available before the end of March 2014.
