Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite specs leaked
As recently as a few days ago, Samsung has been rumored to be working on a ‘Lite’ version of its 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3. This should obviously be slimmed down somehow (in terms of specs), so that it’s going to be sold at the incredibly low price of €100 (that’s roughly equivalent to $136, but it may be even cheaper than that in the US, as electronics usually are).
Now we have the first specs to talk about for this device. They’ve appeared courtesy of it being Wi-Fi certified. A user agent profile for it was also spotted on Samsung’s domain.
And what we found out is intriguing. It turns out that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will come with a 7-inch 1,024×600 touchscreen and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor based on the ARM Cortex-A9 architecture. That’s to be expected for a low-end tablet, but, get this – the non-Lite, ‘vanilla’ Galaxy Tab 3 (pictured above) has the exact same specs.
So it looks like Samsung cut other things in its quest to get the price as low as possible. It’s unclear what, but RAM, storage space, and the cameras are good candidates for trimming. Anyway, the new Lite version runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, whereas the already sold non-Lite iteration only comes with version 4.1, to add to our intrigue.
