HTC One Mini and Butterfly S Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates now rolling out
Two HTC smartphones are now in the process of receiving updates to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5.5 – the One Mini and the Butterfly S. 4.3 isn’t the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system anymore, but that doesn’t mean that this update won’t be welcomed by HTC One Mini or HTC Butterfly S owners. And let’s hope that HTC is working on bringing both of these devices up to Android 4.4 KitKat in due course.
In the meantime, Jelly Bean it is – the last version named that, in fact. Butterfly S units in Australia and Germany have already started getting update notifications. The whole thing is done over-the-air, so there’s no need to connect your phone to a computer to download and install. Just wait for the notification, and go from there.
You can see what it looks like in the image above. The hefty 746.25 MB download should be carried out via Wi-Fi. After updating, you’ll be on software version 2.21.708.1. Among the new things that the update brings are improvements to Video Highlights, BlinkFeed, the Music player, and Sense TV.
As for the HTC One Mini, the update should be rolling out now in the UK, and possibly more markets. It too brings with it HTC Sense 5.5, with improvements to the camera and Video Highlights. Also, Sense TV now makes it to the One Mini.
In both cases, keep in mind that such rollouts can take a while to reach all devices, so if you haven’t received either update yet, don’t panic – be patient.
