Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition surfaces in Germany with bundled GamePad
The GamePad accessory that Samsung officially listed on its website way back in March finally became official a few days ago. It works with phones and phablets up to 6.3 inches in size. But apparently it also works with tablets, though in a different fashion.
You don’t attach the tablet to the GamePad, rather you connect it to your TV via an HDMI cable, and then you can use the GamePad for, well, controlling games – which are on your tablet but show up on your TV. To celebrate this exact use case, Samsung is set on releasing the Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition – at least in Germany. That’s where the leaked image below comes from.
The Game Edition is basically nothing other than a plain ol’ Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 with a Samsung GamePad accessory bundled in the box. Also included are an HDMI cable you’ll need to hook the tablet up to your TV and three free games.
Unfortunately pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition hasn’t been leaked yet. Nor a (tentative) release date. But now that the cat’s out of the bag, it shouldn’t take long. After all, next year seems to be all about the tablets for Samsung, at least judging by the sheer number of models it plans on launching.
This bundle will obviously not break any sales records, but it might make people aware that such a gaming use case is possible.
