Meizu MX4 will come in two versions
Meizu may be feeling some heat from the rise of Xiaomi and many other smartphone makers that were very small just a couple of years ago, but the company that was first called “China’s Apple” isn’t going to go down without a fight. And fight it will, it seems, with its next product.
We’ve already told you that the Meizu MX4 will sport a 5.5-inch 2,560×1,536 touchscreen, making it one of the first phones in the world to offer such a high-res panel. But that was a few weeks ago. In the meantime, new information has surfaced and it turns out that there won’t be just one MX4 – but two.
The device with the insanely high-res display will obviously be the higher-end of the duo, and it will also get 4G LTE support, which is becoming extremely important now that China has finally given the go-ahead for high-speed networks.
The lower-end model won’t actually be anything close to low-end, being expected to sport a 5-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen and MediaTek’s MT6592 “true octa-core” processor. But wait, there’s more! This handset will also get support for 4G LTE.
You may think that this is only important news for the Chinese market, but you’d be wrong. Meizu is planning on entering the US market next year, so these devices may be for sale over there very soon. We’ll keep you posted.
