Oppo reveals the size of the Find 7’s 2,560×1,440 screen: 5.5″
Oppo’s been teasing its next flagship smartphone, the Find 7, for quite a while now. The Chinese company that debuted on the world stage last year when it launched the Find 5 internationally has been slowly revealing details about its upcoming device. This time around it’s no different – we just got another spec for the Find 7.
And it ends a few days of speculation regarding its screen size. Previously, Oppo told us that the Find 7 would feature a “2K” screen, a moniker which device makers are using to describe 2,560×1,440 resolution. The Find 7 will be one of the first handsets ever to sport such a high-res panel, so naturally people wondered just how big it will be. An ex-Oppo executive then said it certainly won’t be 5.7″ or something insane like 7″, so we all assumed it was going to be smaller.
Well, it is. But just by a bit. As you can see in the teaser image above posted by Oppo to its official Facebook page, the Find 7’s screen will be a 5.5-inch unit. That puts this device squarely into the phablet category.
It will be interesting to see if Oppo decides to also release a true successor to the Find 5, complete with smaller, 5-inch screen. Perhaps something like this may come at a later date, because the Find 7 clearly won’t be for those who don’t enjoy gigantic smartphones. In the meantime, the teasing campaign is sure to continue, so stay tuned.
