QWERTY-packing LG F3Q will become available at T-Mobile on January 22
An Android smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard is an extremely rare occurrence in this day and age, yet T-Mobile is getting ready to launch something just like that.
The LG F3Q (which will possibly be branded Optimus F3Q for sales purposes) will be out and about doing its thing at the magenta carrier starting on January 22. That’s in exactly two weeks from today.
The F3Q has the honor of launching on the same day as the Sony Xperia Z1S, T-Mobile’s de facto Android flagship for the foreseeable future. The F3Q got leaked once so far, back in December, when we saw what it looks like. However, no specs were associated with that leak.
Yet if it is a close relative of the Optimus F3, which its name seems to imply, then it should come with a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera, a 1 MP front camera, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2,460 mAh battery. It could run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, since that’s the OS version at work in the F3.
Obviously, even though the F3Q is a close relative of the F3, some specs may have been changed. Or it could just literally be an F3 with a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard added in for good measure.
Either way, this isn’t shaping up to be a high-end device, but those few people who still absolutely demand a physical QWERTY keyboard from a smartphone nowadays really can’t be choosers.
