Gold LG G2 on the way
Gold, gold, gold everywhere! Following in the footsteps of Apple, Samsung, and HTC, LG is about to release its first gold smartphone. Fittingly, the Korean company chose to use its current flagship offering, the G2, as the device to receive the new color variation. It’s thankfully not gone with a very dazzling blingy look, but goes the near-beige route like the iPhone 5S.
A gold LG G2 was spotted at online retailers in Taiwan, complete with price attached. It should cost NT$14,900 ($496) for the 16 GB version, and NT$16,900 ($562) for the model with 32 GB of storage.
Aside from its paint job, the gold LG G2 is otherwise identical to its black relative that was launched last fall. The word from the far east is that the gold LG G2 will be in stock in stores in time for the upcoming pre-Chinese New Year shopping season, which makes sense since that’s the peak of gift giving in that part of the world.
The million dollar question, of course, is whether we’ll ever see the gold LG G2 in Western markets. And right now there’s no way of telling, but we really don’t see why not.
