Sony Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia E1 European pricing revealed

Only a few short hours ago, Sony made the Xperia T2 Ultra phablet and the Xperia E1 low-end smartphone official. Back then, though, we didn’t have anything concrete to go on with regard to pricing.

All we could do is simply assume that the Xperia T2 Ultra will be priced at around €400, and the Xperia E1 at around €175. These assumptions were based on Sony boasting one thing or another about these devices, then clarifying with some studies it ordered. The one relevant to the T2 Ultra only looked at sub-€400 competitors, while the one regarding the Xperia E1 only dealt with phones sold for less than €175.

Now though, Xperia Blog claims to have received word of official pricing in Europe for both handsets. The Xperia T2 Ultra (pictured below) is the easiest to deal with: its recommended retail price (RRP) will simply be €399 across Europe. That falls in line with what we gathered based on Sony’s claims.

The situation is thankfully different for the Xperia E1. At €175, it would have been quite expensive given its specs – going in Moto G pricing territory while not being able to live up to it in any other way.

In Belgium, the Xperia E1’s RRP will be €129. For some reason that goes up to €139 in Germany and €149 in the Netherlands. These prices are all for the single-SIM version. It’s still unclear whether Sony will sell the Xperia E1 Dual in Europe, but if it does decide to do that it should be priced at €149 in Germany.

It’s nice to see such a small price difference between a single-SIM model and a dual-SIM version, as it’s not something that happens often.
