Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite unveiled with budget specs, no price
After quite a few leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite has become official today. The Korean company announced its newest tablet, mentioned that it will be available globally, but failed to say anything about this device’s most important aspect: the price. We have previously heard that it would be sold for $129 or €100, but without official confirmation we can’t be sure.
Clearly, though, this is as low-end as it gets in the tablet space in this day and age, so the price is a sensitive matter. If Samsung doesn’t charge too much for it, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite could become a bestseller.
The tablet comes with a 7-inch 1,024×600 touchscreen, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, a 2 MP rear camera, no front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3,600 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and you probably shouldn’t expect any updates past that. Its dimensions are 193.4×116.4×9.7 mm, and it weighs 310 grams.
There will be Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi+3G versions up for sale. When exactly it will be released is still a mystery. What we do know is that you’ll be able to choose from black and white in terms of color versions.
