Sprint launches ZTE Optik 2 tablet for just $29.99
Sprint has launched the ZTE Optik 2 Android tablet today. This is the successor to the easily forgotten original Optik from two years ago. Interestingly, while it is thankfully cheaper than the first Optik, the Optik 2 doesn’t come with much improved specs. So it seems like the two years that have passed in between these releases have only served to take down the price of Sprint’s cheapest tablet (both now and then) from $99.99 to $29.99.
Yes, you only have to pay $29.99 to grab an Optik 2, but that price comes with a two-year contract attached. Still, you’ll probably want a data plan if you’re going to use this thing out and about, though you should know that it doesn’t feature support for 4G LTE. How useful Sprint’s 3G really is in this day and age… that’s for you to decide.
The ZTE Optik 2 has a 7-inch 1,024×600 touchscreen, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (MSM8625Q), 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage space, microSD card support, a 5 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 4,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
If for some reason you want to get one of these, this is where you need to go.
