Oppo N1 clone costs just $99.99
Being a Chinese smartphone maker apparently does not shield you from having your devices blatantly ripped off by other Chinese smartphone makers. This is the tale of the Oppo N1, and the no name “T908″ that looks identical.
The T908 doesn’t even bother with a brand name, it’s just the T908. This Oppo N1 clone is currently available to order for $99.99, so it’s a lot cheaper than the device it copies. The design is the same, though, complete with one rotating camera.
However, as you’d expect for such a price, the specs are lowly. The T908 comes with a 4.5-inch 540×960 touchscreen, an 8 MP camera, a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with an interface that itself wants to copy Oppo’s Color OS.
The clone is a lot smaller than the Oppo N1 though, something which you may have gathered from the screen size. Its overall dimensions are 141×66.3×8.9 mm.
So yes, clone makers have gotten so adept at doing their thing that they’re now setting their sights on the more well known Chinese brands as “inspiration”. Or you could say that Oppo has now jumped the shark.
