HTC M8 may be unveiled in late March in New York
HTC’s next flagship smartphone is currently codenamed M8 (the One was M7 before it). So far we’ve seen bits and pieces leaked about it many times, and we are undoubtedly getting closer to its release. HTC will probably put it on the market at around the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S5, if only in order not to let that ‘steal’ the spotlight for any reasonable amount of time.
Courtesy of well known leaker @evleaks we now have a few more details about the M8. It could apparently be announced in late March in New York City (a venue also once rumored for the Galaxy S5’s introduction).

Furthermore, the M8 is said to be looking “strikingly like the M7″ (a.k.a. the currently selling HTC One). The only notable difference is set to be the fact that the One’s successor will be the first HTC high-end handset to sport software rendered Android buttons (just like Google likes them).
Otherwise, you’ll apparently be hard pressed to tell these two apart, were you not looking closely enough. That may be a good thing for HTC, since the One’s design has been praised by many. But it could also mean trouble – after all, a surprisingly large number of people considered the Samsung Galaxy S4 only a minor update to the Galaxy S III based on looks alone (and promptly ignored it). That could possibly end up happening in this case too. It’s too early to tell for sure though, so stay tuned.
