HTC M8 home screen leaked

As we get closer to its unveiling (which could happen next month), we’re beginning to see more and more details about the HTC M8 leaked. The M8 is the Taiwanese company’s next flagship smartphone, the successor to the One from last year. M8 is just a codename (like M7 was for the HTC One), and it will launch being called either One 2, Two, or maybe even One (2014).

That all remains to be seen. In the meantime, let’s feast our eyes upon what is said to be the M8’s home screen, complete with an evolution of HTC BlinkFeed, the feature introduced with Sense 5 and the One in 2013.

The new UI overlay that will debut alongside the M8 may be called Sense 6 by HTC, since at the moment we’ve seen Sense 5.5 tops. It doesn’t look like a big departure from Sense 5 in terms of looks, with most things being similar, yet improved in many small ways.

The oft-rumored software rendered Android buttons make an appearance too, so they’re clearly in. And there’s also the white battery icon – making for fully white status bar icons just as Google wants them to be. The M8 is obviously running Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest iteration of Google’s mobile operating system.
