LG officially teases the G2 Mini (and shows its back), announcement coming on February 24
Not long ago it seemed like the LG G2 Mini got Bluetooth certified. At that point we speculated that, with the certification handled, an announcement could be coming soon – perhaps even at MWC which takes place in Barcelona later this month.
It turns out we were right. LG has just posted the image you can see below on its Facebook page. This serves as official confirmation that the G2 Mini exists, and it will be unveiled on February 24 according to the text accompanying the picture.
That’s going to be a very busy day indeed, with Samsung and Sony also holding events on that particular Monday. It’s the first day of MWC, however, so perhaps this makes sense after all (though in past years big smartphone makers often resorted to having events the preceding Sunday).
We are only treated to the LG G2 Mini’s back, as you can see, but suffice to say it looks exactly like its bigger sibling. So we’re expecting the same to hold true for the front of the handset as well.
Previously leaked specs talked about a 4.7-inch touchscreen, though it may come with the disappointing 540×960 resolution. Hopefully though that turns out not to have been true and LG opted instead for at least a 720p panel. 4G LTE support should be in as well as Android 4.4 KitKat from the get-go.
