Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 now available to order in the UK, delivery “by March 21″
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is now up for what we can only call pre-order in the UK. The tablet is the smallest of the high-end bunch that Samsung unveiled during CES last month, and its availability in the UK follows that of the much bigger Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. However, since the Tab Pro 8.4 has the same screen resolution as that while being a lot smaller, it’s actually the tablet that has the highest pixel density ever, even beating out Apple’s efforts.
That should make for a great experience with it. You can order one right now from Very, a well known UK retailer, but although it’s listed as “available”, deliveries are set to happen “by March 21″ – which means it’s not actually in stock.
Anyway, we at least get a price for this tablet in the UK – £349, that is. Considering that it starts at $399.99 in the US, it’s hardly unexpected. The Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 clearly aims for the iPad Mini with Retina Display, yet unlike in the US, it’s actually more expensive than that in the UK. So its prospects of selling even remotely well have pretty much been hindered by the pricing in this case.
There’s still a chance that this isn’t official straight from Samsung, and just an estimation of one retailer. Otherwise, the Tab Pro 8.4 will unfortunately be confined to ‘niche device’ status for the remainder of its shelf life.
