Sony’s now pushing out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to the Xperia T, Xperia TX, and Xperia V
A couple of days ago Sony started rolling out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia SP, barely making its self-imposed “early February” deadline for the release. And today three more devices will start to receive the same update: the Xperia T, Xperia V, and Xperia TX. These should all have gotten theirs in early February as well, but mid-February seems to be better for Sony.
The rollout can take some time, and it may be a while before your device tells you that there’s an update available. That’s always the case with these things, though. Furthermore, you should keep in mind that handsets bought unlocked and SIM-free are likely to be updated faster than those purchased from carriers, since then those companies have to test and approve the updates too.
Aside from bringing you all that’s new from Google’s release of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, this update also carries with it updated Sony applications, such as Messaging, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, Sony Select, Walkman, Album, and Movies. New to this software version are Xperia Themes with downloadable packs from Sony Select, and an improved Stamina mode.
