Huawei Ascend G6 press renders leaked showing it will come in many colors
For a while there’s been a debate as to what smartphone Huawei will announce at its MWC press conference this Sunday. So far the options seemed to be either the Ascend P7 or the Ascend D3, but what if it will be neither of those? It just could be that the Chinese company will unveil the Ascend G6 instead (or alongside one of those, at least).
The Ascend G6 first leaked in January when it got certified for sale in China by the relevant authorities. The G series is what Huawei uses to brand its midrangers, and this one borrows heavily from the much loved design of last year’s incredibly thin Ascend P6. This was made obvious from the photos that came out of that certification, and today it’s confirmed by the leaked press renders you can see below.
Clearly then, the Ascend G6 will be one colorful offering, with at least five different flavors being up for grabs (though there may be more). No specs were leaked this time around, but we already know that the Huawei Ascend G6 will sport a touchscreen of unknown size with 540×960 resolution, a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, 1 GB of RAM, an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera, a microSD card slot, and support for 3G. No word on an LTE capable variation yet. The phone will run Android, yet which exact version is still unclear.
