T-Mobile LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update now available

A couple of weeks ahead of the scheduled rollout for the UK, the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the LG G2 sold by T-Mobile USA is now available to download and install.

However, it’s not coming to you over-the-air just yet. That means you should stop checking your phone for an update notification. Instead, the download can be grabbed via a computer from LG’s website, and then you can install it after you connect your handset to your computer and use LG’s Mobile Support Tool (which should be available at your local LG support website).

To grab the direct download link, head on over to this thread at XDA Developers forum. T-Mobile will probably do an OTA rollout at some point, but if you’re the impatient type you could be running the latest version of Android today.

The release of the KitKat update for T-Mobile’s LG G2 comes after AT&T’s model also started receiving its taste last Sunday. So it looks like LG is finally ramping up its update rollouts for the G2, hopefully more territories will follow after the UK in March – when this version of the OS will already be around six months old. Time for LG to step up its game in this regard, perhaps?
