LG G Pad 8.3 with 4G LTE lands at Verizon on March 6
The rumors and leaks were true, it seems. The LG G Pad 8.3, with added 4G LTE of course, is indeed headed to Verizon. And just like anticipated, the official release date is March 6. That’s this Thursday – in two short days from today.
Verizon took the time to make the tablet official, and it also thankfully brought us pricing information. If you sign a new two-year contract with the carrier, you’ll be able to pick up the LG G Pad 8.3 for $99.99. This price, however, will only be valid until March 10. After that date, you’ll need to pony up $199.99 for the privilege. If you’d rather not sign a contract with Big Red, you have to shell out $299.99 for the tablet. On March 6, the G Pad 8.3 will be available both in Verizon stores and online.
Interestingly, the specs listed by Verizon for its G Pad 8.3 include a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, which is clocked 200 MHz lower than the CPU in the Wi-Fi-only version. It’s likely that this is nothing but a typo, but if it isn’t, then it’s certainly a weird step back in terms of specs.
Otherwise, though, Verizon’s model seems to be identical to the Wi-Fi-only iteration (with added 4G, of course). So you should expect an 8.3-inch 1,920×1,200 touchscreen, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 5 MP rear camera, a 1.3 MP front camera, and a 4,600 mAh battery. Running the show is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
