T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update now rolling out

The internationally sold Samsung Galaxy Note 3 started receiving its update to Android 4.4 KitKat in mid-January. Since then, the update has been slowly rolling out to more and more regions across the globe, as it wasn’t put out for every country at once. And now it seems it’s finally reached those Galaxy Note 3 devices sold by T-Mobile USA.

Some readers have started to report to TmoNews that they’ve had their phones notify them of the availability of the update, so they went along and agreed to download and install it. The screenshot below serves as proof that this is indeed happening.

As always with such over-the-air rollouts, keep in mind that it might take a while for the update to be seen by your particular device – this is because these releases are staggered. If you’re impatient, you can always manually check for the update by going to Settings > General > About device > Software update, but keep in mind that doing this doesn’t ensure your Note 3 will get it immediately.

Nothing much seems to have changed with the update, at least not in terms of user-facing features. The new white icons for the status bar are in, the location menu has been revamped, and alongside those many things have changed under the hood. After applying the update, you’ll be on software version N900TUVUCNB4.
