K Touch Nibiru Mars One H1 has 5″ 1080p screen, octa-core CPU, 13 MP camera, costs $162
Chinese smartphone makers do usually impress us by cramming great specs into insanely low-priced smartphones, but this one probably offers one of the best price per features ratios in the business. Let’s just say it’s a steal, even for China (where you really are spoiled for choice if you’re searching for an extremely cheap smartphone that has high-end innards).
Ladies and gentlemen, let’s meet the K Touch Nibiru Mars One H1. Yes, Nibiru, the fake planet, gets to sit alongside Mars, the real planet, in what has got to be one of the longest (and funkiest) smartphone names ever. Ignore all that madness for a second, though, and you’re left with a pretty interesting device.
The H1 has a 5-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5 MP front camera with wide-angle lens, a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and all the usual connectivity options (sans LTE, though). It runs Nibiru ROM, which is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Not bad, right? And all of this can be yours for the low, low price of 998 yuan, which at the current exchange rates means approximately $162 or €116. We’re obviously talking SIM-free and unlocked here. The downside is obvious, is it not? The H1 will only be available in China, at least officially. And right now there’s no release date to speak of.
