HTC Desire 816 will be sold in the UK

The Desire 816 was announced by HTC last month at MWC, and the company is pretty proud of this new midranger, and not afraid to brag about it. The Desire 816 is, according to its maker, akin to a ‘king’ of midrangers, and it certainly sports a good design, better than most of its competitors. The specs don’t necessarily disappoint either, and with 450,000 pre-orders racked up in China in just three days, it’s apparently going to be pretty successful.

That said, the first HTC midrange phablet is only going to be out in China this month. A more global rollout is planned for April, though HTC never actually announced the full list of countries that would get it. Cue the speculation. Since it’s already showed up for pre-order in Germany, it’s pretty clear that it will be offered over there.

But what about the UK? Well, fret not, Brits, for the HTC Desire 816 will also be coming your way. HTC’s official Twitter account for the UK tweeted an introduction to the Desire 816, something that would be pretty pointless if the handset wouldn’t show up in the UK eventually. HTC UK did stop short of actually saying that the midrange phablet would be offered for sale on the island, but that’s pretty obvious.

As for the all-important when and for how much details, those are still to come. We’ll let you know when we find out more.
