Samsung Galaxy S5 could be arriving in some places on March 27

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is supposed to become available in almost 150 countries and territories on April 11. At least that’s what Samsung officials said during the phone’s unveiling in February. This date has been confirmed by retailers for a few countries, so everything looked set.

However, now it turns out that some countries may get Samsung’s newest flagship even sooner than that. Perhaps what the company’s people meant to say then was that the S5 would be in stores in 150 countries by April 11, not necessarily on that date.

Take, for example, Malaysia. Over there the Galaxy S5 will be available on March 27, which is in less than two weeks from today, and more than two weeks before April 11. If you’re a Samsung fan looking to buy a Galaxy S5, Malaysia is the place to be, it seems. At least if you want to be among the first people in the world to get one.

It’s unclear whether other countries will follow suit and offer the Samsung Galaxy S5 before April 11, but we’ll keep you posted. In case that you’ve forgotten for whatever reason, the Galaxy S5 will come with a 5.1-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen, a 16 MP rear camera with LED flash and 4K UHD video recording, a 2.1 MP front camera, a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, 150 Mbps 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, IR remote, fingerprint sensor, heart rate monitor, and a 2,800 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
