Microsoft Surface 2 with LTE announced, arrives tomorrow
A few days ago the Microsoft Surface 2 with LTE started arriving in warehouses, so its launch seemed rather imminent. And so it was, since today the company has decided to officially announce this new version of the tablet that originally got unveiled last September.
The Surface 2 with LTE will apparently only work with AT&T’s high-speed network, and you’ll be able to share your connection with other devices via Wi-Fi. The Surface 2 with LTE will become available tomorrow at Microsoft retail stores, Microsoft’s online store, and all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores. It will cost $679 and will come with 64 GB of internal storage. There will be no other LTE-capable versions coming with more built-in space, or less.
Aside from the added 4G LTE connectivity, the Surface 2 with LTE is identical in terms of specs to its Wi-Fi-only sibling that launched months ago. You can expect it to come with a 10.6-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen, a 1.7 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 5 MP rear camera, a 3.5 MP front camera, microSD card support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It runs Windows 8.1 RT.
