Sony Xperia M2 pre-orders now live in the UK, priced from £224.98, shipping on April 30 or later
On the first day of MWC last month, Sony unveiled three new devices, yet two of those (the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet) have so far gotten most of the attention. Perhaps that’s understandable, since they are flagship offerings after all, but the Xperia M2 that was introduced alongside them is interesting too.
It’s a midranger, which means it could sell even better than those two. So far we’ve seen it priced in continental Europe, but now some retailers in the UK have started taking pre-orders for the Xperia M2. If you were looking for a decent midrange smartphone with a screen that’s not too small, not too big – this may be it.
You can pre-order it from either Amazon, Clove, or Unlocked Mobiles. Prices differ, though, as you’d expect. Amazon asks for £239.99 for one, with free delivery and shipping set to start on May 16. Clove wants £228 for the phone, and says it will have the first batches in stock sometime in May. Unlocked Mobiles is asking for £224.98 for the M2, and expects to get it in stock on April 30.
The Xperia M2 has a 4.8-inch 540×960 touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and a 2,300 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
