AT&T is giving away five units of the all new HTC One, hints at how much it could cost
The so-called all new HTC One is clearly the mobile world’s worst kept secret at the moment. The Taiwanese company will officially unveil its next flagship smartphone on March 25, which is next Tuesday, and the phone may even go on sale on the same day (at least via one retailer in the UK and at Verizon).
Now AT&T is offering you the chance to win five all new HTC One units, one per day, starting today and until March 25. It’s funny that AT&T doesn’t name the handset it’s giving away, choosing only to say that it’s “about to launch an amazing new HTC device”. However, it’s obvious what we’re talking about here, especially since the sweepstakes end on the day the all new HTC One will be announced.
To win, all you have to do is enter your details over on this special page, and hope for the best. You’ll be able to do that until 11:59 pm ET on March 25. Obviously, the chance is for US residents only.
In the rules for the prize draw the devices you can win are priced at $639.99, so that may very well be how much AT&T will charge for an all new HTC One without a contract. That’s just $10 less than what the carrier wants for an off-contract Samsung Galaxy S5, so we can probably expect the new HTC One to be offered for $199.99 with a two-year contract, just like its Samsung-made competitor.
