Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet and Xperia E1 now available in the UK
If you’re in the UK and a fan of Sony’s mobile stuff, you may be happy to know that both the Xperia Z2 Tablet and the Xperia E1 smartphone are now in stock over there. The Xperia Z2 Tablet is a high-end offering that was announced at MWC alongside the Xperia Z2 handset, and it’s been up for pre-order for around a month now.
That changed today, when it’s finally listed as being in stock by Sony’s own online store in the UK. Unfortunately though, this only applies to the two Wi-Fi-only versions of the tablet. The one with 4G LTE connectivity is still only up for pre-order, without a firm shipping date attached. If you don’t need that additional connectivity though, you can buy the 16 GB Wi-Fi model for £399, and the 32 GB version for £449.
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has a 10.1-inch 1,920×1,200 touchscreen, a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3 GB of RAM, microSD card support, an 8.1 MP rear camera, a 2.2 MP front camera, 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 6,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
The Sony Xperia E1 has so far only been out in India, but now it’s made it to the UK too. The low-end offering can be purchased from Clove for £134.99, but only if you want it to come in white or black. The purple SKU will only be out in April.
As its price implies, this is a bare bones smartphone, coming with a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 3 MP rear camera, a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, an extremely loud 100 dB speaker, and a 1,700 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
