Sprint starts taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S5 too, releases pricing and shipping info
Well, it looks like Sprint wasn’t able to hold out any longer. Following in the footsteps of AT&T, US Cellular, and T-Mobile, the Now Network has announced its plans regarding pre-orders, pricing, and availability for the Samsung Galaxy S5.
And, perhaps a tad surprisingly, it will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S5 today, just like AT&T and US Cellular (T-Mobile is waiting until Monday to get started for some reason). Sprint expects to have the device in stores on April 11, which isn’t a surprise anymore really, since that’s the S5’s international release date.
If you want to purchase Samsung’s newest flagship device from Sprint, you have to pay $199.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) and sign a new two-year contract. Alternatively, there’s Sprint’s Easy Pay scheme, which will give you the handset for nothing upfront, provided you then pay 24 monthly installments of $27.09. One thing to note, though, is that if you want to pre-order a Galaxy S5 (or ‘reserve’, as Sprint calls it), it looks like you’ll have to do that in a Sprint store.
Sprint will also sell the three new Gear wearables, and its prices are the same as AT&T’s. The Gear 2 will be $299.99, while the Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit will go for $199.99 each.
