T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S5 pre-orders start on March 24, pricing announced

AT&T and US Cellular have already announced their pre-order plans for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5, and now it’s T-Mobile’s turn (and no, we still have no word from Sprint and Verizon).

The magenta carrier that likes to call itself uncarrier will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S5 on March 24, which is this coming Monday. You’ll be able to get the handset for nothing upfront, then $27.50 per month for two years. This adds up to a total of $660, however it’s apparently only an “introductory” price, which will be valid until March 31 and not later. What happens after that is unclear, though don’t expect major price hikes since AT&T’s off-contract price for the same smartphone is $649.99, and T-Mobile usually matches those things when you add up all the monthly payments you have to make.

In celebration of this launch, and also until March 31, T-Mobile is taking $120 off the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 with a mobile internet plan and 200 MB of free data for the life of the tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available at T-Mobile on April 11, which is the international release day, and is also when US Cellular will have it. So one of the biggest days of the year (in terms of smartphone launches, that is) will be in exactly three weeks from today.
