The All New HTC One M8 finally gets official, available today
After many months of leaks, the all new HTC One (M8) was announced today. There’s really nothing surprising here, because all of its specs have been leaked many times until now.
The new One, which its maker’s representatives kept calling HTC One M8 on stage today, is obviously the company’s flagship smartphone for this year. It has a 5-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen, an UltraPixel HTC Duo Camera with dual LED flash on the back, a 5 MP front camera, a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, IR blaster, BoomSound dual front speakers with built-in amplifiers, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6. Its dimensions are 146.36×70.6×9.35 mm, and it weighs 160 grams.
The HTC One M8 will be available in the three colors you can see above before the end of April in more than 100 countries at 230 carriers. In the US, most major carriers will have it in stores before April 10. However, you’ll be able to order one online from AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon starting today at 1 pm ET. And, just like anticipated by some leaks, Verizon will even have the new One in stores today – also from 1 pm ET. The pricing you should expect is $199.99 with a two-year contract, and $599.99 sans contract.
The HTC One from last year, along with the One Mini and One Max, will get updated to Sense 6 “later this spring”.
