Nokia Lumia 930 may not get unveiled on April 2. First Windows Phone 8.1 devices out on April 23
A while back we heard that Nokia would announce two new Windows Phones during Microsoft’s Build conference, which takes place between April 2 and April 4. These were to be the Lumia 630 and the Lumia 930. In the meantime, Nokia itself teased an announcement at Build on April 2. Now though a conflicting report says only the Lumia 630 will be outed at that point, whereas the Lumia 930 will remain a mystery for a while longer.
This comes to contradict past mumblings, so take it with a grain of salt if you must. On the other hand, we have to consider that the Lumia 630 (seen below) was leaked much more than the Lumia 930, which has only been rumored to be some sort of international version of Verizon’s Lumia Icon (though it may be something else entirely).
So from this point of view the Lumia 630 getting official is almost a given, while the Lumia 930 may or may not make its appearance this Wednesday.
At Build, Microsoft should finally present Windows Phone 8.1 to the world, and a separate leak slash rumor says the first handsets to run this new version of the operating system will be in stores on April 23. Unfortunately, the tidbit doesn’t say which devices those are, yet we can assume the aforementioned Nokia Lumia 630 may be one of them, perhaps joined by the Samsung Ativ SE.
