AT&T’s LG G Flex now receiving its dose of KitKat

Yesterday, AT&T started sending out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Today it’s time for the LG G Flex sold by AT&T to receive the exact same treat.

Yes, if you’ve bought LG’s first smartphone with a flexible display you should have a software update waiting for you. If not today, then soon – these over-the-air rollouts are usually staggered so not everyone gets them at the same time.

The update comes with restyled status and navigation bars, the new full-screen immersive mode, improved closed captioning, stronger security, improved battery efficiency, faster operation overall, support for cloud printing, and LG’s Knock Code for quickly and securely unlocking the G Flex.

In case your phone hasn’t yet notified you about the update and if you’re feeling impatient, you can always manually check by going to Settings > General > About phone > Software update and tapping on Update Now. Who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky.

Your battery should have at least 50% charge left when you attempt the update.

The LG G Flex has been sold by AT&T since February, after having been announced last year.
