LG Lucid 3 now available at Verizon

Today Verizon has launched the third smartphone to bear the Lucid brand. Like its two predecessors, it’s also made by LG, and it’s also a midranger.

The LG Lucid 3 can now be yours for free with a new two-year contract, for $12.49 per month using Verizon’s Edge payment scheme, or for $299.99 if you don’t want any commitment at all.

The Lucid 3 comes with a 4.7-inch 540×960 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, a VGA front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, and a 2,440 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

Spec-wise, this is pretty much a match to the G2 Mini that LG has announced a couple of months ago for international markets. The design of the Lucid 3 is a bit different from that, but this may have just been Verizon’s doing. So the Lucid 3 could very well be called Verizon’s own G2 Mini, though when you think about it – the design was the only thing actually making the G2 Mini resemble the G2. With that gone too, what we’re left with is nothing but a midranger running KitKat. Which is exactly what the Lucid 3 is.

If you’re interested in picking one up, however, head on over to Verizon right now.
