iPhone 5S now just $99.99 with contract, or even free with trade-in
Many Android-powered smartphones see hefty discounts at third-party retailers, some even days after they launch. It’s not unusual to find such a company selling an Android device for half of what carriers are asking for it.
But things are and always have been different when it comes to iPhones. They’re usually not ever seen on sale at anything other than the recommended price – which, for the current flagship, is $199.99 with a two-year contract. Sometimes certain retailers such as Walmart take that price around $10 down, but that’s mostly it.
So you should be surprised then, and perhaps a bit happy, to find out that you can now buy an entry-level iPhone 5S for just $99.99. Obviously you still need to sign a new two-year contract with a carrier, your choice being between AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. But that’s a cool $100 saved compared to what you’d need to pay should you go directly to those carriers.
Furthermore, if you trade in an eligible iPhone (say, an iPhone 4S), then you can get the iPhone 5S for free. This amazing offer is available at RadioShack, though you can’t take advantage of it online – you’ll have to go to a brick-and-mortar store to do the deed, if you so wish.
