Samsung Galaxy S5 with QHD (2,560×1,440) screen could be out in June
Before the Samsung Galaxy S5 got official in February, many rumors said it would come with a 5.2-inch 2,560×1,440 touchscreen. That would have made it the first device with such a small screen to reach that insane resolution. But it didn’t happen. Instead, the Galaxy S5 we got has ‘just’ 1080p Full HD screen resolution.
So then the rumor mill started churning out more and more mumblings about a possible ‘premium’ version of the Galaxy S5, one that had been rumored a couple of times before that. This, it was said, would come later than the ‘vanilla’ Galaxy S5, it would feature a metal construction, and that high-res display.
And apparently that’s still going to happen. Furthermore, the enhanced (and undoubtedly premium-priced) version of the Galaxy S5 could be in stores in June. Or maybe it will just get official that month. Either way, June will be important for fans of expensive Samsung smartphones, it seems.
The new Galaxy S5 is reportedly in the final stages of production preparation, and it will sport a new Samsung Exynos 5430 processor and an Intel-made LTE baseband chip. Whether or not we’ll get a Snapdragon variation as well remains to be seen.
