T-Mobile LG G Flex Android 4.4 KitKat update now rolling out

Finally following in the footsteps of AT&T’s and Sprint’s versions of the handset, T-Mobile’s LG G Flex is set to receive the update to Android 4.4 KitKat starting today.

It’s been almost three weeks since such updates have first rolled out in the US, so it’s nice to see the magenta carrier catching up. Better late than never, as they say.

The update is rolling out over-the-air, so your G Flex should notify you when it’s ready to download and install. If that hasn’t happened yet, keep in mind that these things are usually staggered and it may take a few days for your particular device to get the update. If you’re impatient, you can always make it manually check by going to Settings > General > System > About phone > System updates and tapping on Check now.

The update is a 147 MB affair, and you’ll need to have at least 50% of your battery left when attempting to apply it. After doing that, you’ll be on software version D95920d.

The update brings with it everything that’s new with KitKat, alongside support for LG’s Knock Code unlocking, better battery life, and various stability fixes.
