LG Uni8 Windows Phone and blue HTC One M8 shown in leaked press renders
LG has been missing from the Windows Phone world for four years, believe it or not. The company’s first and only efforts in the Windows Phone space were the Optimus 7 and the Quantum for AT&T, both released in 2010. Since then, nothing. LG has focused exclusively on Android for its mobile wares. But all of that may be set to change this year.
Below you can see what purportedly is a leaked press render of the upcoming LG Uni8. This device will run the latest version of Windows Phone 8, and it features a nice modern design with minimal bezels and what may be on-screen navigation buttons.
Unfortunately absolutely no other details have been leaked alongside this image, so we can’t tell you anything about the Uni8’s specs, pricing, or release time frame. But if this is real we’re sure to find out more about it pretty soon.
It’s a rather odd decision on LG’s part to return to the Windows Phone camp especially now that Microsoft has completed its acquisition of Nokia, but perhaps the software giant is throwing money in LG’s direction to make this happen.
The Uni8 isn’t the only star in the newest set of press renders, it being joined by the blue version of the HTC One M8. This, as you may know, is HTC’s current flagship Android smartphone, and it’s going to get a lot more colorful in due course. We’ve already seen the pink variation leak, and apparently there will be a red model too.
