HP 7 Plus tablet launches, yours for just $99.99
From time to time HP likes to launch a new cheap, low-end tablet in the US. We’re at such a moment right now, and the new device in question is called HP 7 Plus. A simple name for a simple tablet, which has price as its big differentiating factor.
That’s because you can purchase one right now, straight from HP, for just $99.99. You obviously don’t get much in terms of specs for that price, but for a low-end tablet this isn’t bad.
The HP 7 Plus comes with a 7-inch 1,024×600 touchscreen, a 1 GHz quad-core processor (with ARM Cortex-A7 cores), 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 2 MP rear camera, a 0.3 MP front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11n, and a 2,800 mAh battery (which may be its biggest shortcoming). It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is unlikely to ever receive an update taking it past that.
Obviously this is no Nexus 7, but keep in mind that it’s less than half the price of Google’s latest small tablet. And perhaps there’s a market for such things after all, since HP insists on launching more and more cheap tablets like this one.
If you’re interested in getting an HP 7 Plus, then this is where you need to go to do just that.
